Our complaints procedure

At D J K Solicitors, we are committed to providing the best service that we can. However, should you ever be unhappy with the service received, please speak to our team right away, so that we can rectify the issue.

As a first step we recommend speaking to the solicitor who handled your case initially. If you are not satisfied with the outcome, contact our team for our full internal complaints procedure.

Should this not resolve the issue, you can also speak to the Legal Ombudsman. They are an independent group who can look at your complaint, and their work will not be affected by (or affect) our internal investigation.

Before they accept a complaint for investigation, the Legal Ombudsman will check that you have tried to resolve your complaint with our team first. If you have, then you must take your complaint to them:

  • Within six months of receiving a final response from our team to your complaint
  • No more than six years from the date of act/omission; or
  • No more than three years from when you should reasonably have known there was cause for complaint.
